From the biggest room in the house to the smallest under sink cabinet, there is opportunity to make it a functional space that you enjoy interacting with. We will work with you to set up systems that fit your lifestyle.
When working on each area or category in your home we:
1) Gather - we group all like with like so that you can make informed decisions
2) Sort - we guide you through your process of deciding what to keep, toss, donate, or sell
3) Design - we configure remaining items to the space in a way that is functional as well as aesthetically pleasing
Are you getting ready for a move from a large home into a smaller space? It is likely you can’t (or don’t want to) take it all with you. Making the tough choices when downsizing can be stressful. We are here to help the transition be as smooth as possible as you say goodbye to the past and hello to the future.
"I'm saving this important stuff for my kids to have when I am gone" - This is a common and reasonable thought to have when deciding what to keep. However, unless you have documented the meaningful stories and memories tied to those possessions it becomes just more "stuff" for your loved ones to deal with. We can work with you to capture the stories and the meaning behind your treasured heirlooms so that you leave a lasting legacy.
Life is busy, and the daily demands of work and family activities can be stressful. Perhaps you find yourself saying "If only I had more time!" Guess what? You can!
Let us help you identify ways to save time and find more flow in your daily routines. Your household processes should set you up for success, not stress. We have the solutions you need!
Are you overwhelmed by a mountain of important (and not so important) papers? Are you confused by what you should keep and for how long? Do you know where all of your important documents are?
Did you know that credit card companies collect about $12 Billion a year in late fees alone?! Prior research has shown that about 23% of people pay bills late only because they can’t find the bill. Let’s make sure you are not counted in that statistic!
Each in-person visit includes free removal of one car load of items for donation. We can also advise on practical approaches for items you wish to sell, and help arrange other vendors for pick up of larger items that need to be hauled away.
Making space isn't necessarily about having a uniform row of matching bins. The majority of your home organization projects can be accomplished with the supplies you already have. However, if you want or need specific storage solutions for your project we are ready to recommend and shop for the items that will be the perfect fit for you.
We arrive ready to work with basic supplies such as trash bags, temporary boxes for sorting, labeling materials, and tools for small projects (scissors, tape, hammer, nails, drill, screws).
We can work together virtually to tackle your projects! Through video and phone calls we can help you identify your goals, create a plan of action, and support you through each step of the process. Virtual work sessions are available for a wide range of hours.
Aloha! I’m Amanda and I’ve founded Making Space Within to help people make space for what matters the most: living their best life.
My role as a professional organizer is to make space for change to happen. I’m here to be a supportive and confident coach helping you on your journey. I’m here to give you permission (and the tools) to take your physical or mental clutter and let it go!
My long history of organizing, along with the breadth and depth of my past professional experiences, gives me a unique point of view for working with all types of clients. Whether I was in a corporate boardroom, a public classroom, or many other places in-between, certain things have been constant throughout my journey:
· My ability to take tasks other people find daunting and break them down into manageable plans for action.
· My enjoyment in finding efficiency and flow.
· My love for helping people define what it is that they want and setting them up for success.
I’ve experienced many transition points in my life, as I’m sure you have too: downsizing, moving, loss of a loved one, marriage, divorce, and career changes to name a few. Each step along the way I have learned something new about how the relationship to tangible “stuff” closely ties to mental well being and can either help or hinder a person as they start a new chapter and work towards living their best life.
Making space within my physical surroundings – finding calmness and flow in an organized environment – has always opened up new positive opportunities in other areas of my life.
What are you ready to start making space for in your life? Now is the time! I’m excited to help you get started making space within.
